What Happens When You Call or Email Us?

  1. CONTACT— A Home Illusions partner will get in touch with you and discuss your project needs and answer any questions you have.

  2. SITE VISIT — We do a free on-site consultation to check out the work you would like done, look at the work area, and help you select finishes. 

  3. QUOTE — Next we send you a Service Quote with a detail of the work to be completed, and an estimate of the cost and time to complete.

  4. SCHEDULE — Once we have all of the details for your project, we schedule the work. This may be done at the site visit or after if additional information is needed to schedule.

  5. SITE PREPARATION — This is where you come in. All surfaces, walls, and areas surrounding the work area need to be cleared, as well as a clear path to the work area. For more detail see our Tenant Preparation Checklist.

  6. PROJECT START — Our Home Illusions expert technicians will arrive at your project location on the scheduled date and time and do the work agreed on in the Service Quote.

Before We Arrive

There are a few things that we need you to do before we arrive to ensure the space is ready for us to do our work properly. Please review the list below to prepare the areas we will be refinishing for your appointment.

  • Put away or cover all valuables and cover or remove any computers and large electronics from area of scheduled work.

  • All counters and bathtub must be completely cleared off. All food sealed/closed and put away prior to our scheduled arrival.

  • Shower curtains, shampoo, soap, dish soap, sponges, etc. should be removed.

  • Any leaks or repairs must be repaired prior to us arriving.

  • Any fixtures that we are refinishing are required to have plumbing, so that our technicians have access to running water.

  • Any dust-creating work or construction must be postponed or cancelled for the day of the appointment.

  • Missing or loose tile on areas we are refinishing must be repaired.

  • Any glass door enclosure should be removed prior to our arrival.

  • For tile refinishing jobs; any fixture that impedes access to the tiles should be removed prior to our arrival (vanity, pedestal sink, toilet, radiator, etc).

Project Day

  • There can be no people or pets in the room we are refinishing while we are refinishing and four hours after we have completed. We suggest that you leave the property while work is taking place, however it is not required.

  • After the HOME ILLUSIONS technician has completed work and left the property, we suggest opening windows, (for additional ventilation), and leave open for at least four more hours.

  • You must wait for the newly refinished surface to dry completely before using.

    • 24 hours for bathtubs

    • 48 hours for countertops

  • Your refinished surface takes at least 7 days to fully cure. You can still use the new surface during this time.

  • See Care and Cleaning Guidelines to ensure the longest life for your newly refinished surfaces.

After: Care & Cleaning

Refinishing your bathtub or countertop has the added benefit of being easy to clean. No more porous bathtubs or counter tile grout you have to scrub to clean. We use high-quality, professional grade products to refinish your bathtubs and countertops, leaving them smooth and shiny.

Your new surface will only need light cleaning with a mild cleaner. We recommend Dow Scrubbing Bubbles, Mr Clean or Fantastic. Simply spray and wipe clean. No scrubbing needed.
